Arbor's Shaping Ethos
Grip Tech + Parabolic Profiling
The system shaping philosophy underpins the design of every snowboard in our line. It allows us to create advanced true-rocker and true-camber designs. As a result we preserve all of the inherent riding benefits of these proven platforms by avoiding hybridization. Two distinct technologies make this possible:

Parabolic Profiling

We use a unique shaping technique that replaces the single radius arc found in traditional camber or rocker with a more advanced parabolic profile. The design blends five separate radii together to create a parabolic arc which gradually reduces the amount of rocker or camber toward the tip and tail. In our System Rocker shapes the design lowers the leading edge to improve edge hold. In our System Camber shapes the design makes the leading edge less aggressive for smoother performance. The blended five radii design also drastically improves our ability to tune each shape in our line for ability level, target terrain and riding style.

System Camber
Arbor System Parabolic Profiling

Our System Camber shapes are for riders who want:

  • A highly responsive ride, crisp on-edge performance and more pop for carving and ollies
  • Effortless true-camber performance across all types of snow and during turns, spins and landings
Complete the system with Arbor System X Bindings

The System X Baseplate

FOUND ON ALL ARBOR BINDINGS
  • A proprietary design that transfers rider input out to four heel-to-toe convergence zones, improving edge controls and response time.
  • A concave design allows a board to flex more seamlessly by reducing flat spots for improved edge performance.
  • When paired with an Arbor Snowboard, the System X design improves the activation of Arbor's Grip Tech contact points.
  • This unique binding / board interaction provides maximum performance at speed, in steeps, amd through any turn, carve or spin.

Fender Tech

The edge control created by Arbor's System platform allows us to add Fenders that slightly lift a board's leading edge off the snow. This dramatically improves turning, spins, float and tracking on cambered snowboards.

Unlike "early rise" or "rockered" nose/tail transition zone, Arbor's Fenders create smoother performance without shortening the camber section of the board. As a result, you get a clean ride without any loss of the pop or performance that comes from full-length camber. Today, we use Fenders on the majority of our System Camber designs.

Great intermediate resort board

"My first board, purchased after I outgrew my hand-me-down starter. I arrived at the sport in my mid-30s, so not looking to do rails, boxes, jibs, etc -- more for resort riding and glades. Love the speed and control of this board; I get through flats easily and it's pretty responsive for turns. I echo the other comments here and say it's on the stiffer side of medium, probably not ideal for the park. The stripped-back aesthetic is also very much up my street, though it also means scuffs show up much easier. I've taken this board out on Whistler and Crystal and it can handle the runs I'm interested in. I also like that the 162W is 268mm at the waist; as someone with size 14 feet it's hard to find a proper wide board. I get a bit of toe-hang here but nothing major and I prefer that to 274mm + boards where edge changes feel laborious. Overall I'm super happy with the Formula Camber, in no small part because it's geared to the style of riding I want to do: resort-focused, intermediate-advanced, looking for good speed and control over tricks. I can also get down with Arbor's ethos and sustainability initiatives, which I feel are industry-leading. Solid purchase."

Solid all-mountain board

"I bought this board to ride on the east coast of Canada. It is a solid all-mountain board on the stiff side of medium flex, it has nothing to envy to more expensive models. It performs well in powder and icy conditions. If you're a park rat, maybe go for something softer. The downside is the base, it's a sintered base but really soft, to the point that if you press with your fingernail it leaves a mark. So it scratches very quickly in daily use."

Amazing Ride

"This was my first snowboard purchase and after having it for 2 seasons I am in love with it. Being from Florida and only being able to head out couple times a season the performance of this board is phenomenal. The grip tech helps me find the edge and power into a turn effortlessly. I can’t wait to purchase another style Arbor this coming season. Great board, great company and amazing designs."
